While Spencer “Sunset Rubdown” Krug needs to learn a thing or two about projecting an actual stage presence beyond hiding behind a bank of keyboards, Wolf Parade is still one of the most promising and rewarding acts ‘indie rock’ has to offer. Some highlights from Day Two of the band’s brief NYC residency: the candy-coated, careening synths of “Soldier’s Grin,” a menacing “California Dreaming,” and such reliable standbys as “You Are a Runner and I Am My Father’s Sun.”
