Since we already shared a tightly wound mix—featuring David Bowie, Public Image Ltd., Swans and more—from Warm Ghost, self-titled thought we’d take a moment to remind you about the Brooklyn duo’s sorely overlooked 2011 record, Narrows. A minor-keyed marriage of battery-powered beats, Light-Brite-bathed synth lines and melancholic melodies, it hits a melodramatic peak with “Myths On Rotting Ships,” a single that sounds like Xiu Xiu with actual pop instincts.

Here’s what frontman Paul Duncan had to say about the song’s NSFW video, which we unveiled below…

Jay Buim and I came up with the idea for this video: teenage camp counselors/’70s horror flick characters appearing in limbo, where they meet an aquatic goddess of sex and death who sort of ushers them into this state of mind where their eyes are opened and they come to terms with both. Jay directed and I art directed. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. I’m usually not even that interested in music videos, which is why I like the challenge. That said, I still think Bat for Lashes’ “What’s a Girl To Do” video and Broadcast’s “Tender Buttons” are up there with my favorites. —Paul Duncan
