The Artist/Album: Mark McGuire, A Young Person’s Guide (Editions Mego, 2011)
Our Review: Here’s something we didn’t know we needed: nearly two and a half hours of rare solo material from Emeralds’ resident shredder, ranging from the rapid fire flare-ups of “Dream Team” (an opening track that happens to be 17 minutes long) to the lucid dream loops and microscopic melodies of “Explosion Alarm,” “Calgue Woods” and “Slipstreams.”
On a semi-related note, watch this space for an exclusive Mark McGuire mix and interview in the next couple weeks.
