As much as we dig the roughed up Replacements-y direction The Men continue to go in–they even had a slide guitarist onstage at the Pitchfork Music Festival–self-titled can’t help but miss the battery ram bent their former de facto frontman (Chris Hansell) brought to the band. Now long gone from their lineup, he can be found in a role that makes much more sense: fronting a full-on hardcore band called Warthog. Not to mention making the occasional guest appearance onstage with like-minded punks like Ceremony, which Handsell joined onstage at Mercury Lounge a few months back.
