So we were out with some other writers the other night and someone mentioned how the Men’s new album reminds them of Ryan Adams. Now before you get the wrong idea, we’re pretty sure this person mistook the slight twang of songs like “I Saw Her Face” as a sign of the band indulging their alt-country side…if that were still a ‘thing’. The truth is, there’s very little in common between New Moon and Mandy Moore’s man outside of a desire to shred like yesterday’s high priests of guitar heroism. Adams expresses this desire by doing his best death metal imitation; the Men simply let their songs do the talking…
