With Ennio Morricone set to turn 85 next Sunday, the legendary film composer has marked the occasion by confirming his first L.A. show, a March 20th performance at the Nokia Theatre featuring 200 guest musicians and singers. Considering the heavy stamp his music’s left on Hollywood—see: such iconic scores as A Fistful of Dollars, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West—this is kinda a big deal. And it’s not the only stateside stop he’s making, either; Morricone will also conduct a large ensemble at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on March 23rd, making it his first New York City appearance since a Radio City Music Hall concert in 2007.
