The always prolific Daedelus has announced his latest album: The Light Brigade, a “deeply moving meditation on mortality” written with the Crimean War of 1853-56 in mind. Due out through Brainfeeder on September 30th, it’s also meant as a sequel to the Boxer Rebellion-inspired EP Righteous Fists of Harmony. To hammer that it’s-getting-heavy vibe home, the producer has shared the record’s lead single “Onward,” a beat-less ballad featuring vapor-trailed vocals from Bespoke collaborator Young Dad and a spacious keyboard melody that’ll sink your soul in no time.
