As far as we can tell, no pigs, bombs or parliamentary halls were harmed in the making of Part 8, the latest masterclass in artful dance music from the house-y side of Matthew Herbert. Due out December 14th through the producer’s Accidental Records imprint, the effort brings Herbert’s ongoing EP series to a close and leaves the door open for a new LP in early 2015.
While lead single “The Wrong Place” left us feeling a bit dizzy thanks in part to the clipped vocals of Hejira singer Rahel, today’s unveiling of “Ticket” is far more streamlined and frantic, a nod back to Herbert’s Wishmountain days that’s bound to detonate more discerning dance floors…
