Blackest Ever Black Compile Regis Productions, Remixes on Manbait

Regis

Blackest Ever Black has revealed a new compilation of Regis productions, rarities and remixes from the past five years called Manbait. Due out September 18th, it includes commissions for Raime, Ike Yard, Vatican Shadow and Dalhous, along with three previously unreleased tracks—an alternate Tropic of Cancer mix, a fresh edit of the Regis single “Blinding Horses,” and a modern take on a long-lost track from Karl O’Connor’s teenage synth-punk band Family Sex.

All of which should offer a nice counterpoint to the three Regis compilations Downwards released in a few years back, covering the producer’s solo output from 1994 to 2001. As for whether all of this—not to mention numerous side projects and continued work on Downwards and O’Connor’s limited editions label with Silent Servant and James Ruskin, Jealous God—hammers O’Connor’s recurring role in the techno underground home, he insists, “Just as Lead is a parody of Gold and Coitus is a parody of Crime—Regis is a parody of Underground.”

Indeed. Stream the original 12” mix of “Blood Witness” below…
