Carla dal Forno has announced her latest solo album. Due out October 4th through her own Kallista Records imprint, Look Up Sharp finds the F ingers co-founder embracing “a transformative move towards crystal clear vocals and sharpened production… an evolutionary leap from the thick fog and pastoral stillness of her Blackest Ever Black missives.”
A press release also promises shades of AC Marias, Virginia Astley, and Broadcast, as well as instrumental pieces similar in spirit to “The Flying Lizard’s dubbed-out madness and the vivid purple sunsets of Eno’s Another Green World.” Check out the video for “Took a Long Time” below, along with dal Forno’s thoughts on the track, her previously shared “So Much” Better” single, and some tour dates…
“Took A Long Time” is about meeting someone you like and not being able to tell yet if they like you too. You wonder if you’re reading the signs or just misinterpreting what’s going on. At that moment you feel super excited and really anxious. It might seem trivial, but it’s also as if this is the most important moment of your life.
