The latest video from Beck’s Morning Phase LP channels the downer choruses of “Heart is a Drum” through the grainy, monochromatic lens of director Sophie Muller, who helps the singer reunite with his younger, dopier self and the mortality nods of his “Loser” video. Death’s taken on a different hue now that Beck’s 20 years older, haunting his very being rather than simply washing his windshield with fake blood or inspiring an impromptu workout routine at the Santa Monica graveyard.
