Recruiting members of Radiohead (Johnny Greenwood), Primal Scream (Mani), the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Flea) and Pink Floyd (David Gilmour) is one thing, but Bryan Ferry‘s gone one step further with his new Olympia LP. Due out October 26 through Astralwerks, the solo album will also feature Kate Moss on its cover.
According to a Metro interview, the sleeve is inspired by Edouard Manet’s 19th century painting. “Kate has long been the femme fatale of our age,” explained the former Roxy Music frontman, ‘As controversial as she is beautiful, and the most glamorous female icon since Marilyn Monroe,” Ferry told the Metro. [Manet’s Olympia painting] was a kind of early pin-up picture and, in a sense, a forerunner of some 20th century pop art, which I feel strongly connected to.”
