“My music’s all based on this story about an android that travels to this other planet,” Com Truise explained in a Red Bull interview last summer. “So I’m not really writing about myself, but then I realized I have been all along. It’s all been about me.”
The latest chapter in the producer’s sci-fi storyline is Wave 1, an EP that explores what happens when an android is sent to space and lands on a planet that’s “like a mirrored civilization of our own…like Earth, but slanted, and a little weirder.”
The music is meant to reflect this skewed perspective, with songs that tweak Com Truise’s neon-hued template with restless tempos and even some vaporized guest vocals.
