You know the drill by now, right? Another year, another new album from Thee Oh Sees; in this case, Floating Coffin, an increasingly paranoid look at just how far we’ve fallen in recent years.
“These songs occur in the mindset of a world that’s perpetually war-ridden,” Dwyer says in a press release. “Overall, it’s pretty dark, and much heavier than our other albums.”
One prime example of that approach is “Toe Cutter – Thumb Buster,” a track that tackles the uncomfortably numb mind state death and destruction often lulls us into. You can grab that teeth-gnashing number and the record’s much more sedate closing statement below…
