Ellen Allien has revealed the details behind her latest record. Due out March 12th through her BPitch Control imprint, LISm is a new version of the score Allien wrote for a dance performance (“Drama per Musica”) in Paris a few years ago. According to a press release, the producer “decided to revive and rework the piece–some passages remaining the same, while others have been extended to give birth to a new musical composition…During this 47:58 minute soundtrack, the curtain rises and falls on a variety of soundscapes, songs and tracks–a musical journey through Ellen Allien’s world rather than a concept album. The piece fluidly changes while simultaneously uniting various sonic styles, reflecting the ethos of Ellen Allien’s DJ sets.”
