As we said in a review of their new song “Rats” (available for download here), The Black Heart Procession haven’t lightened up one bit on their Six LP. And while we wouldn’t have it any other way–nothing pairs with the passing of seasons and long, dark nights quite like a Black Heart album–we were wondering what makes a morbid man like Pall Jenkins smile. His stream-of-consciousness answers are below, along with a Halloween-appropriate video clip…
1. Car Crashes
It’s amazing they don’t happen more–it’s funny people like cars and people like life–but crashing cars and death keeps our taste buds alive.
2. MMA Fights
I enjoy Mexican food with my mixed martial arts. It’s a strange thing I never expected.
3. Drugs
Just not too many at one time or for too long. I think freedom of addiction in any form is a miracle.
4. Any Gay Scene
I love to put myself in new environments and walk with all freedom.
5. Sleeping
It’s great to enjoy the night and all its sounds. Without sight, your sound and imagination come alive.
6. Waking
Knowing you have another day, and laughing about your dreams with your lover, is an amazing thing.
