James Blake revealed some of the details behind his debut album in the NME this week. Due out February 7 (in the UK at least) through ATLAS–a vanity label funded by Universal–the “probably self-titled” effort is set to be his most personal to date. When asked about whether there’s other electronic artists working within the same soul-baring framework, Blake said, “There aren’t any. But then I come from a very different place. Although I suppose the album is electronically produced, and I am an electronic artist, really I’m a piano player and singer. And these lyrics are taken totally from my own emotional experiences at [university].”
Blake goes on to say that he plans on touring with a full band next year and releasing even more EPs. You can read the entire feature by buying a digital copy here.
