Jon Hassell Shares
Eno-Approved Single

Hot on the heels of Jon Hassell’s recent Vernal Equinox reissue comes a self-proclaimed “companion piece” to 2018’s Listening To Pictures LP.

Due out July 24th through Hassell’s own Ndeya imprint, Seeing Through Sound is actually the second volume in the influential composer’s painterly series Pentimento. A mind-expanding move towards making transportive music with “an undefinable and intoxicating new palette,” it’s best described by the Fellini nod in its liner notes: “Listen as if you were being told a secret.”

But hey, don’t believe us or a press release; believe Hassell’s longtime friend/Fourth World partner Brian Eno, who had this to say about the rather avant-garde single we’re premiering today….

What an amazing piece! In less than three minutes it put me into a new and different place. This seems like a whole new direction for you. It really is one of the most mysterious, seductive and enchanting things you’ve ever done. Never heard anything at all like it.
