Rhino has announced the latest reissue campaign loosely tied to a Joy Division anniversary. In this case, it’s the 35th birthday of “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” the seminal mope-rock single that’s been covered by everyone from Swans to Bush.
On the docket this time around are prolonged heavyweight vinyl pressings of the band’s entire discography, set to hit shops on June 29th (Unknown Pleasures, Closer) and July 24th (Still, Substance). The latter will be spread over two LPs and tack a pair of bonus tracks (“As You Said,” the Pennine version of “Love Will Tear Us Apart”) onto the singles compilation that is Substance.
