Alexis Georgopoulos has announced his latest album as ARP and guess what? It’s got nothing to do with sky-scraping synths, New Age nods or neo-classical abstractions. Instead, More is “best described as a pop album by an avant-garde musician…to create a world of heady atmospherics and melodic song craft over its concentrated 46-minute arc.”
The first taste of said arc is “More (Blue),” which features the multi-instrumentalist/composer embracing his newfound voice over smoked-out sax lines and a gently swaying groove. Check it out below, and look out for two new releases in the next couple months: More on September 17th through Smalltown Supersound, and a one-off collaboration with visual artist Tauba Auerbach (Erratics, which was mixed on degraded acetate platters last May) sometime in late August through RVNG…
