Whether you love or loathe the schizophrenic pop music of MGMT, there’s little doubt as to whether the guys have a killer record collection. The duo first explored it on a Late Night Tales set that featured everything from Felt to Mark Fry; now we have what appears to be a vinyl-driven mixtape for Rockaway Summer. Frontman Andrew VanWyngarden bought a house on the beach a few years back, leading one local realtor to call it “the Hamptons of New York City.” And now that MGMT is on an indefinite hiatus, what better way to work one’s next move out than through a dusty record collection?
