So that‘s why Osborne was suddenly playing the Northside Festival last week–because the producer’s about to release his first new material in four years, a 12” that features Hot Chip singer/multi-instrumentalist Joe Goddard on its A-side. Like the latter’s 2 Bears project, “Hold Up” is more of a traditional dance tune, featuring a steely kick drum, honeyed synth harmonies and Goddard playing the role of house diva.
Look out for the rest of the EP–including Goddard’s own dubplate–on July 22nd through Spectral Sound.
