While Katy Morley’s explored the experimental side of pop music as both a solo artist and singer (see: Ryan Olson’s sprawling Gayngs collective), her Morly project embraces the power of simple, unadulterated songwriting on its looming Sleeping In My Own Bed 12”. Available next Friday on Cascine, the spare effort is the first spellbound result of Morley’s recent sessions with producer Christopher Stracey and a stacked cast of LA musicians.
