The Details: Kevin Drumm, Imperial Distortion (Hospital Productions, 2008)
A Quick Review: Two sprawling discs of tectonic mood music from a nihilistic noise maker who’s comfortably numb at the moment, thank you very much. Drumm’s subtle shifts and beat-less soundscapes are unsettling to say the least, like the constant cabin drone of a 10-hour plane ride after a night of restless sleep and no sedatives. Let’s just say he gets the last laugh in the end, too.
