Hey, remember when we caught Salem‘s first couple shows (Glasslands, SXSW) and thought they oughta stick to their day job–soundtracking the inner id of serial killers, night crawlers, and open-minded 4AD fans? Well, last night’s private Ramiken Crucible show was promising enough to make us rethink all that, as the trio tore through a 30-minute tour of their King Night album, from the mist-shrouded melodies of “Frost” and “Redlights” to the ghoulish rap grooves of “Sick” and “Trapdoor.”
Check out two live clips from last night after the jump, via Pendu, the dude who booked Salem’s Brooklyn gig last January. We’ve also embedded Salem’s track-by-track commentary from our current issue and a streaming King Night player in case you haven’t seen them yet…
