Like Fort Romeau’s recent Frankie Rose remix, JD Twitch’s Optimo edit of Girls Names proves that the Slumberland sound don’t begin and end with the indie pop scene the label’s helped shape for the past 20 years. If anything, “The New Life” reminds us of how the Horrors went from being a trash can-tossing garage band to learned disciples of Kraftwerk, Can and all things Kraut-rock.
