As the FADER first pointed out last month, Prolife has nothing to do with the ongoing battle over abortion. It’s a self-proclaimed “anti-suicide band” that features two former members of the death-rock band Slug Guts. That may seem like an oxymoron, but the duo’s Sacred Bones debut—”Overheated” b/w “Gold Leaves,” the flip of which is being premiered here—is indeed full-blooded while still maintaining a mood that’s clammy and cold. In other words, it’s a single you’d expect to hear in the middle of a vampiric techno set, right before the beats really kick in and the pallid end of the dance spectrum comes out to play…
