While Sextile may call their caustic sound “primitive post-punk from outer space,” the LA band’s new “Current Affair” single is decidedly grounded—a call to arms in a country that appears to be going down fast. Lyrically, the song addresses the regression of our (American) nation. It’s a backwards motion, a lapse in front of our eyes—happening fast. The song is a verbal refusal of getting caught in this current of delusion. It’s a plea to the world to wake up.
