A few months back, the folks at Sacred Bones mentioned having a secret project on the way this summer. Here’s what we didn’t expect: a deluxe, limited vinyl reissue of David Lynch and Alan R. Splet’s Eraserhead soundtrack, including three 11” prints, a 16-page book, a download card and a 7” single of Peter Ivers’ “In Heaven” with a newly unearthed recording (“Pete’s Boogie”) on the flip.
“When Sacred Bones collectively closes its eyes, this is the music we hear,” the label explained to Pitchfork. “We couldn’t be more proud to present this masterpiece.”
Eraserhead will be available on August 6th. Check out the film’s trailer, Lynch’s Zola Jesus remix and more after the jump…
