“The Sphinx” doesn’t exactly scream “look out Friday, here we come,” but it’s a worthwhile listen regardless, easing us out of the afternoon ever-so-slowly with the first taste of As Iron Sharpens Iron, One Verse Sharpens Another. That’d be the double LP Ricardo Donoso is dropping through Digitalis sometime next month. Considering how much we dug his last two, this is exciting news, exciting even if this particular song hints at something far more sinister than the early morning trance transmissions Donoso has delivered in the past.
