Since the White Stripes belong to us now, we went ahead and dug up two rare/revealing records from the deep recesses of their discography: a hand-stamped triple LP pressing of a savage Las Vegas show (key Jack White line: “Hey Las Vegas, let’s lose our money and lose our mind!”) and a nerve-rattling run through of the duo’s first John Peel session. While the former is from the Stripes’ Elephant tour, the latter captures them nearly 10 years ago and includes covers of Dolly Parton (“Jolene”), Screaming Lord Hutch (“Jack the Ripper”), even a traditional gospel song (“John the Revelator”).
