Well then; the prolonged wait for a proper show from The Weeknd is finally over. The elusive singer has confirmed two New York shows in late April: one on Wednesday, April 25th, at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, and one on Saturday, April 28th, at Bowery Ballroom. Both shows cost a steep $30 and go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST. It looks like they feature no opener, either, so expect a thorough run through of bleak R&B standards from the Weeknd’s three mixtapes. All of which can be streamed or downloaded below.
So what do you all think? Is this a fair price to pay for such a highly anticipated set? (We’re thinking yes.) And if so, what songs do you hope to hear from Abel Tesfaye’s new live band, the one he’s spent a lot of time rehearsing with in the past couple months?
