With a woozy, synth-laced sound that could pass for Ariel Pink after a couple night caps of NyQuil, the latest single from Holy Wave’s looming Adult Fear LP is exactly what we want to be hearing right about now. After all, it’s the first day of spring in self-titled’s new home (Minneapolis)—a much-anticipated moment the universe decided to mark with a light snowfall.

Wrap yourself in the warmth of “Habibi” below, right alongside the Austin band’s commentary and a couple other selections from the magnum psych-infused opus that’s dropping through Levitation’s The Reverberation Appreciation Society label on March 30th….

“Habibi” represents the fall of the hero with a thousand faces. In every story and every history book, there is a point where we all experience a fall from grace. It is something necessary and human.

Or as Albert Camus once said, “I used to advertise my loyalty and I don’t believe there is a single person I loved that I didn’t eventually betray.”
