One thing we neglected to mention in our Smashing Pumpkins review this morning was how thrilling it was to see the band play an actual amazing, new, unreleased song near the end of their Barclay Center set. With a sound that’s much more complex and compelling than its name (“The Dream Machine”), it lived right up to Billy Corgan’s promise: “Those of you who are on drugs may want to leave now, because this isn’t the kind of long, strange journey you want to be on.”
