“The [‘Motor System’] video is built partly around ideas of brutalist architecture, geometrics,” Lee Gamble told Dazed as part of its premiere earlier today. The producer then pointed out how the clip’s ash-colored graphics were inspired by his Birmingham upbringing, an experience shared by designer/director Dave Gaskarth.
“Birmingham looks a certain way,” Gamble explained. “It has certain angles to its structure.”
As does Gamble’s music—songs that are more like sculptures, or in the case of the recently released double LP KOCH, a retrospective worth exploring down to the very last detail.
