Bristol’s Young Echo collective shifts into power trio mode with a self-titled EP from Killing Sound this March. Last heard on a limited cassette in 2012, Amos Childs (Jabu), Seb Gainsborough (Vessel) and Sam Kidel (El Kid) bring their bleak sound into full relief with four “oblique soundsystem murderers… cut obnoxiously loud” across two 12”s for Blackest Ever Black.
“There’s only one way of escape that I’ve ever discovered,” the label writes on its pre-order page, “and needless to say I haven’t forgotten that. So now I wave my arm frantically at a passing taxi, fall inside, and tell the man to drive to the old address.”
